Dear Nurtured Entrepreneur,

Where are you when you get your best ideas, those passionate-about-growing-your-work, visionary ideas?  The make your eyes pop and send you scrambling to write-them-down-before-they-disappear on you kind of ideas?  Do you have a known thinking spot (Winnie-the-Pooh had one)?  In the land of creative entrepreneurship, having a clear, mindful mind that can open itself to new ideas, one branching from the next to the next like a visual thesaurus is wonderful.

“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.”

Patanjali

Sometimes having a spot that you associate with this free-flowing space can be helpful.    Perhaps you have a soft, old chair that sets your imagination free, or a high-flying swing in your backyard, the blissful bath tub filled with hot water and soap bubbles, the driver’s seat of your car as you motor around completing errands.

Where do you do your best thinking?  Claim this spot in some new way, christen it, if you will, so that your consciousness honors it for the well-spring it is.

  • Write powerful words like “imagination” and “creativity” on slips of paper and put them under the chair cushion or driver’s seat to enhance the association.
  • Place a favorite object or talisman near your thinking spot, some fresh flowers, a favorite inspirational quotation, a picture that centers you.
  • Write a poem, limerick, haiku, or tanka about your special thinking spot as an expression of appreciation.

Until next time …
