Dear Nurtured Entrepreneur,

I love finding descriptions of how I want to move through my mindful, entrepreneurial life.  Most of these quotations or stories involve a journey, vehicle, or form of movement like dancing or tai chi.  Here are two recent discoveries applicable to all of my entrepreneurial readers who are seeking balance.

First, Ester and Jerry Hicks (of Abraham-Hicks) wrote about journeying in a hot air balloon and they asked the pilot how he steered his craft.  He explained that it wasn’t about steering as much as it was about collaborating with the wind currents and making adjustments to the height of the balloon, sometimes very small ones, throughout the flight.  Balance.

Then the same day I read about the balloonist, this quotation showed up (yep, serendipitous Divine Timing):

“People who have faith in life are like swimmers who entrust themselves to a rushing river. They neither abandon themselves to its current nor try to resist it. Rather, they adjust their every movement to the watercourse, use it with purpose and skill, and enjoy the adventure.”

When you were little did you ever stand at the center of a see-saw and by gently moving your body just so, position both ends off the ground equidistantly?  It takes a light touch from a relaxed frame of mind.  Maybe even a sense of … playfulness!  Think about applying that same awareness of balance to your business.  Expect nothing.  Be ready for anything.  Balance.  Goooood.

Until next time …Post Closing
