Gently Unplugging the Nurtured Entrepreneur
Jan 24th
Dear Nurtured Entrepreneur,
Do you remember the last time you had a snow-day off from your visionary endeavors, or couldn’t work because a storm or wind had downed power lines? Wasn’t some part of your work-with-passion self secretly thrilled to have the break? No machine sounds entraining your brain to any pace other than your own. Can you say, peace?
Two Lists for Visionary Entrepreneurs
Jan 10th
Dear Entrepreneurs,
Last week I began writing down the vision statements and intentions for my business that I’d been thinking about and sharing in conversations with close friends. I’d record a few, rewrite, ponder. Gradually, this little edginess inside started making itself known. A feeling of resistance that I felt in my chest. I realized that what I was putting on paper and what I was writing down inside my heart weren’t the same thing. I didn’t like that. At all. Rats. “Now I’m going to have to look at that,” I grumbled to myself. Time for a TV break. Or a chocolate break. I bet the dog needs a bath. More >
Question Years/Answer Years for Nurtured Entrepreneurs
Jan 6th
“There are years that ask questions and years that answer.”
- Zora Neale Hurston
Dear Entrepreneurs,
Isn’t this an interesting quotation? It set me to wondering which kind of year this will be for the visionary entrepreneurs of the world. We’ll learn that in the unfolding or perhaps in retrospect. The thought that I hear behind these knowing words is that it’s good either way. More >
A Great New Year for Nurtured Entrepreneurs
Jan 3rd
Dear Entrepreneurs,
I put out the call (to the Universe) for a wonderful appointment book for 2011. I wanted something fabulous and economical. Being a Nurtured Entrepreneur, I knew I could conjure it up with a little help from the Shopping Faeries. More >
The Turning of the Year for the Nurtured Entrepreneur
Dec 30th
We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
- Joseph Campbell
Dear Entrepreneur,
As the good year draws to a close (I say good because, like all nurtured entrepreneurs, I have reaped great goodness from this year’s challenges), I encourage us both to name our accomplishments of the twelve months past. I encourage us to touch on briefly, if at all, the things we did not get done or did not do as well as we would have liked if it helps us to adjust our course. Let’s instead celebrate those particularly personal victories that filled us with glowing well-being. More >
Sweet Recipe for the Nurtured Entrepreneur
Dec 27th
Dear Entrepreneur,
I had two wonderful scent memories this past weekend: the smell of my brother’s tobacco mixed in with his Christmas box and the smell of fresh-made-that-day Christmas cookies upon opening a gift tin. Both filled my heart with good feelings and reminded me of a great old spiritual entrepreneurial tip: follow the scent of sugar cookies, a.k.a. use your feelings as a time-saving intuitive guidance system. Sustainability and the Nurtured Entrepreneur
Dec 9th
Dear Entrepreneur,
Think with me for a moment about emotions and the concept of sustainability. We hear this term most often applied to agriculture and the environment. But what about emotions, especially if you are a passionate, visionary entrepreneur? More >
Prepared in the Life of a Nurtured Entrepreneur
Dec 6th
Dear Entrepreneur,
I recently watched an interview with a novelist, very much a nurtured entrepreneur, who mentioned a byword of the literary set that has been turning around in my mind. She said,

Work with Passion
Nov 30th
Dear Entrepreneurs,
Yesterday was the birthday of Louisa May Alcott, author of the beloved novel Little Women and others. She was a visionary woman who was blessed by having a work with passion. In her honor, I watched the movie yesterday, the 1994 version (having watched the 1949 version fairly recently). More >
Calling All Visionary Entrepreneurs
Nov 7th
Dear Entrepreneurs,
Welcome to The Nurtured Entrepreneur, where, like the old Farmer’s Almanac, my goal is to be “useful, with a pleasant degree of humor.” Nurtured entrepreneurs love humor and laughter. More >
